Dalam album bertajuk "Act 2: Cowboy Carter" yang dirilis Beyonce pada 29 Maret 2023, satu lagu baru sukses mencuri perhatian.
Lagu baru Beyonce berjudul "Jolene" viral karena liriknya merupakan sindiran untuk pelakor yang ingin merusak rumah tangga orang lain.
Jolene sendiri merupakan lagu cover yang sebelumnya dinyanyikan oleh penyanyi country klasik, Dolly Parton.
Meski merupakan lagu cover, Beyonce justru memberikan sentuhan berbeda pada lagu ini.
Kalau versi Dolly Parton mengungkapkan rasa putus asa hubungannya diganggu pelakor, versi Beyonce justru berusaha memperingatkan wanita lain bahwa ikatan cintanya terlalu kuat untuk dipatahkan.
